I know this is far from being a monster fish, however it seems like lots of people on this board have lots of different sized fish, so I'm hoping someone has some experience with them.
We (my teenagers) have a 55 gallon saltwater tank with a 2 inch hermit carb, a 1.5 inch clown fish, a 2 inch bird wrass a eng goby and a Valentini puffer about 1.5 inches. Newest memebr of the tank is the puffer, he hides all day in crevess in the rocks, doesn't come out for anything but does have a plump stomach so is eating something. There is algee on the rocks, they are feed marine flakes, frozen krill, bine shrimp, mysis shrimp, emerald entree and a frozen ominvore saltwater mix. Once or twice a week live ghost shrimp and little snails. It has been in the tank for 3 weeks and is still always in the crevess. Is this normal for them? all information that we found before the purchase led us to believe that they were calmer then most but still had that puffer personallity that makes them such a great addittion to a tank.
Water parameters, heat salinity are all in the right ranges, do 7 hours of daylight lights, and blue night lights the rest of the time.
Any ideas or input would be really welcome
sorry about the essay
Thanks
