I have 2 pbass that are around 7" each. Out of all the photos I have seen on this site, mine appear to be the only ones with only 2 vertical bars. Is there a reason to this? I have tried to find info concerning this but can't find anything. Also, when purchased I was told they were ocellaris. Yet they dont look the same. Can anyone help I.D. these for me? Thanks. Sry for pic quality, were taking with cell phone.

Here's one of them

2 spot mono's.......very common.............Very nice indeed...You really dont see 2 spots mono's allot.....But ive seen them more and more in LFS>>>

You think they're monocs Jim? I think the first one looks more like an ocellaris. The second one does look more like a monoc than the first though. Keep us updated on pics as they grow up.

Thanks a lot guys! I couldn't find anything online before about them having 2 spots. Gotta love MFK. I will definetly post pics as they grow. I was leaning to the first one being an Orono due to the gold specks around his bars. Then again I'm still learning about pbass.

Saying it's actually called cichla "sp. two spot" is just like saying it's cichla sp. green, or sp. dottiest (for you jim). Eventually there may be another real species that refers to a two spotted pbass, but probably not since at this point they are coming out of farms.... not necessarily from a certain place.
