Have not receive fish from vendor!

Curious to know if anybody placed an order last week with cichlid connection and never received the package.I placed an order on Mon 29th told it would be shipped out on Wed, but never happen because of Tstorms and plane delays which i understood because of risks of fish lost.Call them Fri to get a update, he tells me my fish will be shipped out Mon 6 and a tracking# would be email to me. Never received the tracking# so i email him back later on that Mon night asking for a tracking#. He tells me my FISH HAS SHIPPED ETA WED I'LL SEND TRACKING IN THE AM, never received the tracking and Wed came and NO fish! Has anybody run into this problem or am i all alone in this matter.
 
Have you contacted Gage since Monday night? What shipping method did you choose? Was it overnight (next business day) or priority (typical 2-3 business days)? Sounds like you chose Priority being that is the cheapest option.

If you chose priority then its safe to assume you have no DOA coverage, almost no one covers it because it is not reliable and is not recommended for live fish. Requesting priority isn't the best idea, its cheap but its not the best means of receiving fish.

If it was shipped Monday then 3 business days would dictate Thursday at the latest you would receive them. Wednesday would have been the earliest you could have received it which you didn't. Its too soon to be making complaints about not receiving fish. I would suggest being ready to receive them today and contact Gage for the tracking number just to be sure.

Aside from him forgetting to send you the tracking number, it sounds like he still in the right here. He didn't ship last week because of storms which is understandable. He would have had to ship it Tuesday last week to have safe window of receival for you to get them which wouldn't have been a good idea because of the storms. Aside from the tracking it sounds like he has done everything right, just be patient and ready.
 
At this point those fish are DOA. This is a mixed issue. I have never used Gage before, but I hear good things about him. It is partially his fault for not sending the tracking number so you could have a rough estimate of delivery or when something went wrong (i.e., if your package doesn't leave a spot in over 24 hours....something is wrong). But it is also the carriers fault for not delivery within the time you paid for them. If its a screw up on their part, you will have to file a claim for both the shipping cost and the cost of the animals they killed. Enjoy that process. It can take weeks to settle an issue and and then several more days to get some or all your money back.

A few notes on what I have read about Gage and shipping. Firstly, he packs amazingly well. I just watched a video of a guy who ordered from Gage and was suppose to have them in 3 days, but they didn't arrive for six. All the fish were alive and are doing well. Secondly, there seems to be an issue with the carrier that Gage ships with. There were several reports recently of orders that have been returned to Gage. Not sure if there were address mix ups/errors or if the carrier doesn't know where they are going.

I have heard good things about Gage and would use him myself if he carried anything I wanted. He packs his fish very well and apparently will bend over backwards to try and help a customer (which is a huge win in my book).

I did that already! Sent emails made phone calls a number of times, including yesterday. I called them several times yesterday and nobody answer the phone so i left a brief message.
 
Chances are he sent the package mon and the carrier lost it.
I dont know whats going in with carriers lately but if you dont ship overnight its lost, damaged, or crazy things.

I will tell you. Most times that tracking number is worthless. As carriers do not always update the status or its severely lagged anyways . If Gage does not answer give him some time. People tend to forget vendors are regular people with regular lives and just like anyone else have their bad days and swamped with work and going crazy themselves. Im sure when he does get back with you he will help you out as he has excellent customer service and does all he can to sole your issue.

Also the fish may not be dead anyways. I hope you didnt order anything to big though. Anything over 5--6" is a huge risk for anything less than overnight.

Just received an email from them today saying that they shipped the fish this morning along with a tracking# carrier is usps eta is for Sat.
 
It's good the situation has been resolved. I'm going to close the thread now.
