Have not seen Festaes since I got them

So I jumped on the Festae wagon and really starting to regret it. Its been 4 weeks and they have not come out of hiding! Is this a common Festae trait? I wont give up on them yet, gonna add some dithers and more décor and see if it helps. Tank is small 42 by 18 foot print, Male is 4 inch female is 4 inch had divider and removed it water is prestine . I would love to see what they look like

+1 When my 4 inch male had his own 55 all he did was hide, he didn't even eat. I moved him into my over stocked 120 and he instantly colored up, started swimming around, and happily ate pellets the next day.

My 4.5" male is in a 150g with another 3" male, 3.5-4" umbee, 3" umbee, 2.75" umbee, 3" grammode, and 2 3"ish jags. The king of the tank, awesome colors and a boss.

My pair were always shy, with or without other fish around. If they had the personality of a large Amphilophus they'd be the perfect fish.

Guess mum was right, personality is just as important as good looks!!

One thing that has helped me get shy fish more personable is every time I feed all of my tanks I lightly tap the glass with my knuckles and wait until the fish are all looking at me before I feed them. If they don't look at me I don't feed them. Soon every time you come to the tank they will come to the glass and beg for food. Give that a try and let me know how it works. It's done wonders for me.
