on an icecube.....
iam thinking of makeing a pond in the house for some kind of large fish, i have a laguna pond kit witch says i could make a pond 5'X5'X18"(the lyner is 10'X10')but sence the lyner is that size coudent i make the pond a foot or two bigger? also whats the best kind of heater(s) to use/about how many will i need? what would be the best kind of filter for larger messy fish? and iam also wonder how you would do a WC on such a pond? do you just throw the water out side and fill the pond back up with the hose or something  :D ?

any more pond info would be grate!

thanks

i am not sure what a laguna pond kit is.

i would make it deeper because you dont fill it to the brim like a tank.
on mine i have a internal pond tipe filter
only on the really cold days i throw some heaters in there and keep it covered
1 metal halide light suspended above the pond will warm it up a good bit
to drain i run the outlet on the pump to outside or the tub and refill with the python just like a really big tank and the pump drains it fast alot faster than siphoning it

my pond
8'-3'-2'deep only filled about 21"
950 gal pump
plastic container 4"from bottom light diffuser then 2 2"foam sheets
clean the top one and move it to the bottom about once a week or 2
outlet under the grate to connect to pump and then a nice spraybar outlet. cheap to build, i just copied one i saw in the store for about $20 not $125 got the pump for $60 online

you could go deeper or alitte wider but i always prefer to have plenty of extra liner hanging over the sides of my ponds and for filtration do it yourself homade filters are cheap and easy to make,,,,, i also use a python for my vaccuming and waterchanges for heat i go by size of pond and amount of water but if you build it right you can use less wattage for heating i am going to try a waterbed heater on my neww liner pond and see how that works

well i looked and if i make the pond 5'X5'X20"(and only fill it to 18")then it only holds 233g witch i gess isent realy that big so i may just use some heavy type of plastice instead of the pond lyner, and whats the best way to secure the lyner into the pond frame?
