Swimming in a mountain river
Ok so I'm lookin to buy another FX5 from someone in our neighborhood ($175 can't pass it up). He's moving, tells me he has two adult oscars and a big pleco in a 130G. I said, wait, don't ur fish need this filter. What's he say?" Oh well, i'm moving so i was just gonna release him into the lake:cry:." OH MY GOD.... If my oscar wasn't in a hospital tank, and I decided to keep her there for a few weeks just to be safe, there was no way i could've helped these fish. But since she is, I decided i just HAD to help these doomed fish, and/or the doomed lake. I decided i'm gonna sell them. Can't keep them, but I just couldn't let this guy do this... I'm SO PISSED! There's also another guy around here who decided to release his baby turtles into the same lake! After we offered to take them and give them to the local turtle rescue. GRRRR!!!! WTF IS WRONG W/ PEOPLE!!!??????:irked: :irked::irked::irked: People like that ruin our hobby for responsible people like us...:cry::(:cry:
 
Do only what you can, this stuff will always happen.. but if we, take the little steps to help hopefully one day it will improve.. .
 
So far so good. Oscar just needed to learn turtles are bad. Now he turns to face them and the turtes get scared. Might keep one of the plecos. But not the other and probably not the oscar. I'll put an ad up for them soon incase anyone's interested.
 
Apparently there's a pond around here somewhere. No idea where, but someone released their baby turtles there too. Irwin pond. Inventive name for an exciting place...

lol.. i can probably find room for an adult oscar in my 210, if he's big enough my tems will put up with him.. but i'm full up on plecos.

when we get moved they'll all be going into a 300+ temporarily and into the 800 when i get it set up.
 
U live here too? I'm sry...:D I'm leery about letting military having him. We move a lot, I'm worried that they'll move and decide it's too much trouble, or don't wanna deal w/ them n e more and leave them behind. I've noticed people can be pretty caloused(sp) when it comes to pets. Especially here.
 
glad to hear you stopped at least one person from doing something incredibly stupid.
 
Now, if ur leaving to live at home, well that's a different story! ;)
