I have no idea what they are. They are tiny whole shrimps I found at the Asian grocer. They are about the size of ghost shrimp but seem "meatier" then ghost shrimp.

After reading the article in the over feeding thread, I figure since the majority of a rays diet is arthropods and not fish fillet or de-shelled and de-veined shrimp, these little guys would be an excellent natural diet for them.

They go bonkers when I feed these too!

looks like mysis or very small krill

nice, how much a pound?

8oz frozen is like $5 by me

does look like krill, or even large ghost shrimp, as they turn that color when they die

I think I bought either 16oz or 24oz for like $4.

There are alot of them in there. My guess is over a thousand.

As far as color, they are similar in color to regular fresh shrimp, but I accidentally defrosted them in too hot of water this time!

That spine is sharp as hell and I get poked every time I feed. I figure since rays naturally eat shrimp and fish like aros (I have heard of two aros dieing because of this) do not, that it is safe.

Rays crunch and grind their food, aros just swallow whole.

i fed them a few times.... was cheaper for me to buy market shrimps though....
