to get fish???

I have friends that are married/have girlfriends and their partners have
been putting restriction on their hobby because theyre fish nuts. They have to resort
to clever ways of buying and adding fish to their tanks(s).

My wife doesnt pay much attention to my tank so she doesnt notice the new fish
up until weeks later. And my answer would always be " What do you mean? Ive had that fish for a while! ". Works every time :)

I am still young living at home, so I am having this problem with my parents rather then a girlfriend or a wife.

Ok so let me add parents into the mix... how do you get past your parents?

I know i had plenty of arguments with the parental units back in the day.
I even found all my tanks in my room OUTSIDE when i got home one time.
I was soo mad. I just brought it back in. :)

Never really had a problem with my parents and fish, just that if me and my brothers didnt keep the tank clean she would threaten to cook the fish.
with my wife however is a different story, i havent found an effective way to cheat on her with the fish, so instead i offer to buy her something of equal or greater value.hehe

All tanks in my room (I am only keeping a 55 gallon, 30 gallon, and a 10 gallon). Usually just have monster fry circulating my tank and have to switch every few months as fish quickly outgrow the tanks. :( Only my good 'ol Convicts have a permanent home. Tanks I bought with my own money and support them with my own money. No one can question that.. :)

My parents never cared how much I spent on fish....but that's because I was lucky. Both my dad and my stepmom had some sort of "collection". So they must have thought it normal for me to find my own 'thing' to obsess over.

But when I moved in with my aunt and uncle, they weren't so keen on the 'huge aquarium' thing. I told them, "it's only 80g's, that's not that big." :screwy:

One day, the center brace on the 80g broke, and I told them that if it came off all the way, that my lights would fall into the tank causing a fire or electricute all my fish.

I told them that I needed a week or two to fix it and I had nowhere to put my fish, so I had to buy a new tank, right?

My aunt had already said that the 80g was the largest tank I could have in our apartment, but when I went to my buddy Steve's store, he had a beautiful 180g right by the door. I bought it a month later. :headbang2 :headbang2

plenty of excuses here...

My type of crowd!!! :hearts:

I also use the "this was a freebie" excuse.

The last fish i brought in.. the 2 large paroons.. are "freebies"
and my line is always .." how can i say no if its being given away for free?!?!"

islander - lol that would be a stretch for me. but hey, whatever works for you.
