I hope its not a silly question,
my answer is no, never, because I like the ancient look of it; the bigger they are, the more interesting they become.
whats your answer?why
I was originally relieved when mine died, being as I could now stock my tank without worrying about aggression, but now I want one again. If I only had the space...
With over 30 tanks running, I can honestly say my favorite fish in teh fish room are my bichirs and gar. I never tire of them and can watch them for endless amounts of time.
Towards the end of the summer, I was really thinking about selling my ornate to lessen the bioload a little in my 150, but I finally decided I just couldn't do it. I've had him over a year and grown him from about 5" to almost 12" now. He's slowly becoming more outgoing and is definitely more active in my 150 than he was in the 75. Something about the way they behave is just so cool. I'd like to get more, but my 150 doesn't need anymore fish (definitely not more bottom dwellers). I'm planning on thinning some of the fish out into my 75 as it is.
