Have you ever seen anything like this where you live?

i worked on a property in an underdeveloped neighborhood and was talking to my boss in the parking lot one day, all of a sudden a red tail swooped down and sntched a squirel about 10 yards away from us then landed on a carport and had his lunch lol was an amazing thing to see

AWESOME! Love it when they scream when the hawk flew away. LOL

I guess city birds are not as afraid as country ones. Growing up on a farm we would see hawks try to catch the chickens and the genies all the time.

Living in St. Johns, Arizona, it's not uncommon sight to see. We have red tailed hawks, horned owls, and eagles around here all the time trying to pick-off small pets, prarie dogs, field mice and rats chickens, guineas, turkeys, geese and ducks. Most times they succeed, unlucky days, the don't. It's quite a sight to see an adult golden eagle latch on to a turkey and see who's going to win the contest of survival.

LOL great vids. Especially studd muffin's.

Anyhow, I used to work at a home depot here in town and there used to be birds who flew in and could never seem to find their way back out. Well, one day managers hired a bird trainer with his trained hawk to catch these birds. It was pretty amazing, the hawk would catch the birds mid air and hold it down until the trainer got to him and removed the bird without harming it. After the hawk had captured two birds there was only one more which still remained. A young dove which had lost his way, anyhow there was a fierce chase throughout the store, that pigeon put up one hell of a fight....but all was not to end very well, the hawk ended the chase after running into the huge spinning ceiling fans and had suffered a broken wing, leg. Pigeon wins LOL.

Saw this happen in my backyard growing up. Pretty wild to see it in an urban area on top of a car though.
