Been trying so hard to figure out as what to stock your tank with you have a headache and Keep looking at all the forums on MFK and looking at pictures yet still being completely clueless as what to stock your tank with? Because I am.

I'm getting a 75g, possibly a 125 or 180 if I'm lucky but its probably gonna be a 75gallon. And I'm having a hard time deciding what to stock it with. At first I was thinking a Jag and a Lima shovelnose, but I really have no Idea. I know I want the cat for sure though, or possibly another kind of cat that looks good and wont be hiding all the time.

I've been looking at Tilapia and Paratilapia and CA/CA cichlids. I just want atleast two fish That are monsters. I wouldnt mind keeping only one fish if I had too, but I'd like to have atleast two. So like a big cichlid/tilapia and a catfish that would do well with it, or maybe just a monster cichlid/tilipia single specimen tank.

But what would you stock it with, just if you had a 75 gallon sitting around and you could stock it with whatevet you wanted, what would you put in it?

The reason why I'm having a big problem is because after this, I wont be able to get another tank for a while, Maybe for not even a year! But trust me, if I could get any tank I wanted, I would have already built an 8x4x2' this summer but plans change.

dmopar, the problem with buying your Lima is that, if I do go with my original stocking them wich would be Jag + Lima, your Lima would eat my Jag. As the lime you have is already 9+ I wouldnt be able to buy it until december as the tank wont be fully set up until then. And the jag I plan to buy is a 4.5'' F1 from rapps. So that would be a problem. If Rapps sold bigger Jags, or if I could find a W/C or F1 Jag equal to the size of your Lima, that'd be great...

I'm trying to think of maybe some other Monster that could go with the Jag. Just cant decide wether it be a CA/SA or a Tilapia or some sort. I really like Large and small spot paratilapias, but I dont know how it would do with a Lima. I'm also thinking of Getting more then one SA/CA cichlid to go with the Lima, but I have no Idea what would go with the Jag + Lima...

It's flippin hard to choose with not very much space. I would get a bigger tank, but I dont want to risk anything bigger as this will be going upstairs in my room, and I can get a 75g for really cheap with stand, lights, hood, etc from my Local LFS as they have about 9 of them in package deals.

thats cool if you dont want the lima but there is no way hes goona eat a 4-5" fish. hes in with fish ranging from 3"-15" with no probs. theres not much to a 9" lima. sorry ill leave your thread alone now so that others can make suggestions.

I didnt meen to sound rude in my last post, but I'm just worried. I'd like to have your Lima, but I wouldnt be able to buy it until December, and if I were you I wouldnt want to wait that long. Hope you get it sold though, its really nice looking.

no man i totally understand.:) try severums as an extra fish, i bought one about 6 months ago just cause it was a cheap fish and now i have 3 and theyre beautifull, tough but not killers and have interesting "personalities".

Good idea! I've seen some really neat sevs out there, all different colors to choose from. I'm gonna go look at some right now... You got any other ideas? Severums are an awesome idea though.

the green sevs usually look crappy when small but mine looks awesome now at 6-8" and i like the red/gold ones too. i have a tourquoise as well but arent impressed yet with its coloration but it is still smallish. heres a pic with the red one in it.
