i never noticed that before.... but i agree. could it have to do with the fact that you see the side view in a tank, and the top view in a pond? that sure is strange:confused:
 
I honestly don't think a crowded tank looks good, ONLY BECAUSE you cannot appreciate each fish that's in there. But I rarely see overcrowded ponds anyway...
 
yeah I have noticed that its weird because you would think that the pond would look better overstocked.
 
i guess it depends on the kind of fish. For me i think ponds overstocked with koi look crappy. but i just plain dont lie koi.

but if you show me a pond stocked with several large catfish. i think its amazing
