Hi everyone

Right bare with me with this,
I have a 150 gallon tank and a 30gallon fluidised sump and I have a custom overflow box with 3 - 3/4 inch durso overflows, which leads to the filter chamber then it passes through the bottom of the first baffle which has 80-100 6mm holes in, then into the fluidised chamber then passes through the middle of the second baffle which has the same amount holes and same size, then into the heating chamber where I have 2 x jabeo jecod dcp 5000 pumps but I'm only running one and they are running on 1'' piping.

So I checked on the tank today and some how the overflow box stoped siphoning and the pumps where still going so I was a few mm from overflowing, I'm running on one pump as I'm not sure what to set the control panels to and how to have the ball valves ( I have ball valves on each return) so that's why I'm only running the one.

And another little thing (and this might be silly) my air stones which are 100mm disc but they won't just sit on the bottom of the tank, it keeps sucking itself to the side of the tank, so if anyone could help with that aswell that would be great.

Thanks for reading I hope someone can help me as I'm meant to be picking up 2 rays the weekend.

Airstone problem is the only bit I have experience with. You can silicone them to rocks. That is what I did in the end. burying them doesn't work more than an hour.

well a single DCP5000 does 5000 l/h (1450 g/h) at 0ft head
3 3/4" pvc pives drain roughly 3406 l/h (900 g/h)

your pump drops to around 3406 l/h at around the 1ft head mark. So good with all 3 drains working. at that same height with only 2 working, your pumping an extra 300 g/h

whats your head height? (Distance from pump to top of return)

IMO, your drains should drain more than your pump can pump. when you have that, youre draining only what the pump is pumping

I should be matching the same as my pump as in change the 3/4 to 1''?

Yes, the idea is to make the drains capable of handling much more than the pump. I would have said that originally, but I thought your problem waas your siphon was breaking.

I've taken the overflow off and just putting 2 canister filters on for now, how long will the tank take the cycle ?
are they new filters? If they're new, cycling could take 3-4 weeks or more.
Fishless cycle? dosing ammonia, or letting something decay? your cycled whenever your ammonia rises and falls to zero, nitrite rise and fall to zero, and nitrates rise.

They are both used filters but been off the tank for about a month ? So when all 3 have risen and back to normal that means it's cycled?
