having a problem keeping my plants rooted advice please

so i have a 6" oscar that keeps tearing up my plants i just bought so i have an idea would it work to pt a glass cup over the top of the plant just long enough for it to take root and maybe give the oscar time to adapt to it being there would that work and also how will it affect the plant

Live plants dont go well with oscars, they tend to be interior designers and everything you think looks cool is not the way he wants it

yeah thats what i have been told but im hoping for the benefit of the doubt i guess lol... i also thought it was just mainly new stuff you put into the tank they reranged it bc he wont mess with the plant that was there before he was...but my question is will the plant still continue to take root under the cup... and has anyone every tried this b4 and it worked>?

You could try planting them in a pot in the tank with some rocks to anchor it down in the pot... Or just try a bunch of rocks at the base on the subtrate. But all in all I think the oscar is going to with this one, most cichlids like to re-arrange.

Get rid of the oscar.

You might be stuck with plants that grow on wood.. anubias, java fern, mosses.
