Well just noticed that my 4x monos are starting to get some ick on their fins their in my 405 with 2x IT Dats, 4x Cigar Barbs, 1x Niger Cat, 1, Clown Knife every one else seems to be doing fine they all look clear but iv also noticed a couple of the barbs rubbing against the gravel and stuff so I imagine they have some to, I just went and picked up AP Pro Quick Cure just wondering if anybody has used this stuff before and if its any good, Thanks.

I used an AP product for smooth skin fish before. Cured it in a few days. You probably need to remove any carbon from your filter as this will negate the meds. Also raise the temp bit to about 82. That will help speed up the ICH life cycle and speed up the curing process.

Well that’s good to know I don’t use any carbon but im going to turn the heat up for sure.

I don't use carbon either but you never know who does and who doesn't.

FYI, in case you don't know. The reason to raise the temp is to increase the speed in which ICH goes through its life cycle. When ICH is seen on the fish as white dots, it is impervious to any meds in the water. It is when the ICH detaches from the fish, falls to the substrate to mutiply that it is vunerable to any meds. So by raising the temp the ICH will detach from the fish faster to reproduce and get killed by the meds. At lower temps, ICH will remain attached to the fish for a longer period of time thus making it more difficult and prolonging any cure.

Thanks for the info.:)

old method of raised temp to around 85 and some aquarium salts beats any medication IME

Did you actually see white spots then? Scratching means a lot of things, not just ich.
