Im having trouble getting my little 2" NTT's to take bloodworms. They only eat on the live guppies. My 4.5" IT loves the bloodworms, and eats them on a regular basis.

I went on vacation for 1 week, and when I returned I thought the little guys would eat the bloodworms for sure, since they didn't eat in a while but they didn't go for them.:grinno:

Any suggestions? How long should I starve them?

dont fast to long at such a delicate size.
dont give feeders. only put in blood worms and eventually they will take them.:)

How long is too long?? They went 8 days w/o eating anything and they still wouldn't take the bw:(

I'm not very experienced with Dats, but I've learned this from other members about getting small rays to feed on bloodworms: Get some live blackworms (shouldn't be hard to get them feeding on those) and then start soaking the bloodworms in the container you keep the blackworms in. When you feed them a bunch of mixed black- and bloodworms, they should eat some of the bloodworms by mistake and start getting used to them. Slowly increase the amount of bloodworms until they start eating them readily and then you can stop using blackworms.

I got them on the bloodworms now tho. They are also taking krill now.:headbang2

Just curious, how did you do it? Starve them for a bit?

Yup.
They didn't eat for like 1 week, then they started to play with the bw. And eventually they started eating them.
They love the krill tho...First time I tried it they were all over it..
