for about a week now, I've been trying to treat a blood parrot for swim bladder disorder. its in a tank by itself, and after 3 days of fasting i've been feeding him skinned peas. the fish has been floating upsidedown for about a month now. Its not my fish, i am just treating him for someone else.

Anyways, there doesn't seem to be any improvements yet, and the fish is starting to get black blotches on his fins/underbelly. the fish is also turning pale (due to stress im assuming). Also, on one side of the fish there seems to be this really hard lump in his body. I fear this may be a tumor. the fish in question is over 10 years old, and has lived in very poor quality water it's whole life.

any recommendations on what I should do here? I read online that an espon salt bath may work.

Oh yeah, and:

PH:8.2
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: <10ppm

alright, i've tried several espom salt baths, been feeding pees, and no luck. Is this fish stuck upside down for teh rest of his life? He poops a little. Its kidn of a really long, skinny string, kind of like what you'd expect out of a small guppy.

Depending on how serious you are about this, you can look for a vet that has experience with fish. This condition can be corrected with surgery.

The black spots are normal for blood parrots, though I'm not aware of any definitive answer as to exactly what they mean or why it happens.

Be sure that the fish is not gulping air while eating. Other than that, you can try some antibacterial medicated food if it is still eating, or an antibacterial tank treatment if it isn't eating well. Surgery is probably your best bet.
