Hawaiian pbass

Just got back from Hawaii. I caught a vairety of fish around the island. Here are pics of two from Lake Wilson. My daughter caught the red devil and a Kama'aina (local guy) caught the pbass for me to photograph. When he pulled in the one he got on the line a few monster ones followed it to the surface. It's hard to see in the photo.
Can anyone tell what kind of pbass this is?

Its a occel but i doubt that it is 100% occel probably a occel hybrid

illegal? It says public fishing area on the sign, not sure if you need a permit though. Thought it was illegal to take them home.

Actually fish and game is gonna change the rule where you can have a bag limit of pbass to take out because its over populating the lake.
