Those look really good :) I like the last one the most

thanks. Yeah by the last one, I started getting the hang of the software and settings so it is my best one yet. I am gonna try and make a trip down to the prairie tomorrow and get some more shots to play with. I will post them up when I get those done too and hopefully they will be better...

HDR is definitely cool
what software do you use?
if i understand HDR properly you take a series of the same picture at different exposure levels and then the software creates the melded images

yep, you got it. I use Photomatix (as you can see from one of the images that I have not removed the watermark from b/c I am using the free software).

here are some more that are a little less exciting but still HDR, enjoy the insomnia:

very cool shots! just a tip, ease up on the 'intensity' of the processing and youll avoid the noise in the sky and those 'halos' around objects like where the trees meet the sky. otherwise great job

the key to HDR is knowing when to use it. if you have an overall bright scene HDR wont do much, it will just make the picture look over-cooked. HDR really shines when you have big differences between light and dark parts of a scene, particularly when some parts of the foreground is in shadows due to sunrise/sunset. HDR will really make these pop!

i noticed you were in cfl, where did you take the photos at?
the first one was in the okefenokee swamp and the rest were outside my apartment in Gville.

Thanks for the tip. I will try and soften them a bit next time.
