Just came home tonight (20 mins ago) to find one of my PBass resting at the top of my driftwood...

turned on the lights to see part of a tail sticking out of its mouth, a tail that strongly resembles the pleco which shares the same tank.

His mouth was completely open wide and the tip of the plecos head was spreading one of the gills open... restricting the amount of water the pbass can pass over its gills.

well i held the pbass and was able to VERY GENTLY spread the gills enough to fold the plecos fins down and pull it out slowly

after "freeing" the two, they both swam away... pleco is fine, PBass is under watch

I added salt to the water.... pbass is at the bottom corner breathing rapidly but okay so far....

ANY OTHER ADVISE???

one potential problem is that the spikes on the pleco's fins may have done some internal damage to gills of your PBass . . . that would explain the rapid breathing . . . nothing you can do about that (as far as I know), so you'll just have to hope for the best . . .

Pbass arent that smart, mine sucked up and spit out the same two lace cats at least a dozen times. Once it almost took him out, but he was able to free it eventualy. apparently ANYTHING that will fit in their mouth will be tried as food.

dido best of luck to you

Yeah i noticed that they are super greedy adn will even take 8 feeders at once before they can swallow them

Hes doing fine now... As long as he doesnt try it again

his gills seemed to be undamaged, except for some possible minor scratching.

ill keep posting to update his condition
