looks real jagged around the edges...but my jardini gave me one when i first got it...i kept it in my wallet until it curled too much.
then before he passed, he gave me another one..but unfortunately i forgot to get it out of the tank.

Wow! Liz, the fact that someone as experienced as you has never (or rarely) found an Arowana scale is actually a testament to your expertise at fish-keeping.
My Silver Aro gives me one of these "lucky" scales at least once a month during the weekly water-changes. (He just randomly freaks out when someone wearing red or orange walks by the tank when we are in the middle of a water-change.)
The scale when left in the water actually turns into a mesh-like structure with some of the material either dissolving in the water or (more likely) decomposing in the water.
Well, I guess I should go buy a few dozen lottery tickets...as I am due some good luck!
