The numb nuts jumped ove the comb and down the pipe to the sump. Bit of a mess but I've seen worse in shops.
Went to feed them and was like where the #*%¥ is my arowana? Ad he's not far the 10 inch mark now he can't exactly hide. My Bircher did it about a month back so I put a plastic grid behind the weir to prevent it again. This heft move must of bounced it out of the way though.

Ignore the crap in the water as I'd just emptied plant out of my wave maker and fed them.

anything apart from the obvious I should look out for? He hasn't at but I was feeding as I put him back in.

He doesn't look any worse for the wear. Do you have any kind of air gap between the top and the water surface? It looks like the lights are actually in the water. I would recommend an air gap so that fish can take a gulp of air if they want.

Can't you make some lids for your overflows mine came with the lids to cover them up. It would be easy to fabricate some plexi ones. Is he gashed or just missing a bunch of scales on top?

So it's the arowana's fault he is in a tank that is not properly suited to hold him? :duh:

at no point has that been said or implied! the idea of this post was for pointers for the arows health, so keep the BS to yourself if if dont have anything worth saying. when i bought the arow i researched their jumping habits etc however i never considered due to his size he would be able to get into/fit down the pipe, over the comb and behind the weir maybe, but thats no big deal.

there is now a full cover on the tank in addition to the wooden lid, the perspex cover runs about 3mm over the comb so it cant happen again, there are also hinged openings in it for feeding maintenance etc.

i get what you mean about lights now, its the brace at the top of the tank, i had to turn the pump off to get the arrow out of the sump due to removing the lower part of the return pipe and the return pipe pushes watet to the front of the tank until its properly full due to the wave makers etc

He will pull trough.

Remember that they jump through the tiniest crack.

And fishing him out of the inflow box must have ben something. I once killed a big cichlid removing it...:(

yeah i learned that one the hard way, my birchir did it a month or so back buy hes only half the size, this guy didnt just go into the box, the sod wen down the pipes, through 2 90 degree bends into the 1st chamber of the sump lol, hes ate now anyway an is acting normal, my water is bob on etc as my rtgg i got was battered, 3 days later you wouldnt of known

He's gonna live. Hope you learned your lesson.

Sorry misinterpreted your post, generally you would not call someone "numb nuts" unless you are implying it is their stupidity that caused the incident.
