I didn't see it but my RTG has only just injered itself.
It must have jumpped, it's got a scar on it's head about 1/2 inch long. Not to deep but white.
Do I need to add salt? 204gal with 40gal in sump?
If so how much?
Fish isn't stressed or anything and s swiming normally.

there is no harm in adding salt. I hope you are using heater now cause the temp is quite cold. I use 30C.

i use salt in my aro (silver and green and jar) tanks on regular basis: 1 table spoon per 5 gallon.

Make sure you dissolve the salt first.

Adding salt and bumping up the temp can't hurt anything. This is standard procedure when I have an injured fish...It helps prevent fungus or infection.

My jardini does this occasionally when I do WC. Just bump up temperature. Salt is optional, and it should heal up in no time. My jardini would heal up in less than a month.

If it's not deep, then there's nothing to worry about. Just bump up the temp and I'd say that salt is optional for a minor injury.

Looks minor and not too deep, my Os get scraps all the time from chasing each other, My plecs get similar scraps and recover fine in the bogwood tank, I've also had Koi in the past that have recovered from similar things. Should work out ok

just feed it like normal that happens to my uncles arowana all the time rofl

Thanks guys, Why do we pay for, look after, keep fish. My kid falls off her bike and smacks her chin on concrete and I say to the wife "ah she's tough she'll be ok!"
My fish bangs it's head and i start to worry! something not right there.
I'm in Bangkok so heaters are a no no, if i bumped up the temp i'd be eating boiled fish tomorrow.
The colour is going back to normal now so i think it'll be ok, as for the cut on my daughters chin, well we'll just wait and see!!
