Hmmm...i found this beauty today at a chain store...didn't realize that they got such deep bodied...so it got me thinkin that it might not be one. I could be totally wrong. Would be nice if it turned out to be one just like the red fish hareball has with his pbass...one can dream anyway eh?

Already picked it up, its in the tank, lookin better already. A littly shy though. What is it exactly? Like, can you fill me in more...i googled what you said, but i only found two pictures of it. Its about 5" or so...and got it for $10...hahaha...thought it looked unusual.

They are really bad about fin biting, be careful. Similar to Leporinus in behavior.

Looks like Abramites hypselonotus (Marbled Headstander) to me. They get to be about 5 inches, so yours is almost grown.
