i came home from school today expecting a few babies to be eaten, as they are getting pretty big. what i found instead, was just as bad. my female jewel cichlid got wasted by her mate. no babies are missing (that i can tell), but she is very dead.
now comes the part why this is in the SA section.
i am thinking about selling the father when i sell the babies, unless i see something brilliant in one of the young (albino, leusistic, etc). i will then have an empty tank.
they have a festae in a tank at my lfs (it is with some red devils, and is getting dominated). it is about 3 inches long, and looks to be female (body shape, bars, etc). i know they grow slow, and only get about 8 inches. i am thinking about buying it.
me and my brother and my dad are likely going to be building a 360 gallon tank in a few months. if so, she will go in there. if not, i will sell my 35 and buy a used 55 or 75 for her. if 'she' ends up being a he, which is very unlikely, he will go into the 360 or be sold. i have covered all angles (i hope lol)
thanks
