hey i like constructive critisism so let me noe what yah think

Looks good....keep up with the updates....i'm planning on building the same thing.

i really hesitated on making it but ya know what i got my lumber and just said go for it with that done im into it 20 bucks ..... i have stain ... now the only cost is a 491/2 x 30in peice of unfinished ply 2 peices of 19 1/2 x 30 for the sides and thats it

Looking good but I'm wondering what those two 2x4s that run perpendicular (under) the top of the stand does?

It should have been flush with the two 2x4 that's running the whole length of the stand. You can have it either on the top or te bottom but better to have them on both and in the center.

yah right they really wont be supporting to much i didnt make em flush cuz im closing the whole thing up any way but then again with those 4 studs in the middle and the 2x's doubled up like that all 4 corners its got the strengh.... i think should i ditch those middle braces? or what

I say remove it, put it in the bottom and make it flush. That way, it will be more stable.

word of advice, double up the top 2x4's and overlap each end for strength.I see the "L" brackets but its stronger by overlapping the ends(doubling them up).the only thing holding it all together is screws and "L" brackets, which of course is a must but with overlapping each opposite end it will be ten times stronger. If you dont understand what I mean just p.m. me and I'll try to explain better for you.Looks great though and if you double up the top or even top and bottom, that stand will be indestructable.

the middle wil bow downward over time, wood is ten times stronger when stood on end rather then flat. it will still hold the tank no problem, nice job

i made a few adj. in framing and did some of the finish work today i used 3/8 sanded ply and went ahead and sanded my edges and all surface areas ....... ill post some pixx in a few i only put plywod on the front and 2 sides im leaving every thing else open and i have enough ply to go ahead and make a canopy so now that its sanded im gona go find some stain in my basement and hope put a coat on tonite or tomarrow i still need to get some molding and stain it
