There was an unfortunate incident in my tank a few weeks ago. One of my Victorians was in spawning mode, and was doing his territorial chasing of everything around his spawning territory and my female kribensis was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The Vic didnt harm her personally, but when he chased her she tried to dart behind a rock that I have leaning up on the front of my glass where she liked to hide and caught a sharp edge along her side. Before I noticed anything was wrong with her it was too late to do anything. Her mate being in another location at the time was unaware of her being injured, and me removing her for the burial at sea. But the very interesting thing about it, is that he would go to her rock and look for her. It was kinda sad, like a bad chick flick. So a few days after I decided to go get him a cute new girl. They didnt hit it off at first, she would come near him and show her pink belly and he'd run her off. Over the course of about a week and a half, he finally came around and started showing off his colors again and paired up with his new lady. But from time to time I still find him hanging out at his girl's rock apparently still waiting for her to come back.

WOW... I could be a novelist... but yeah... kinda sad, but it was such an informational behavior that I observed, I thought it should be posted.
