I put in a pond in our basement. The basement is dry walled, heated and a/c. What would be the best thing to use to heat it. Its going to have 4 motoro rays and an alligator gar. What is the least water temp you could go with for these guys? Its made up of just a pond liner and timbers. It wont have a sump to put one in either. Would i even have to use a heater? Just looking for some ideas. Thanks for any info. Just looking to see what you guys use. Thanks again.

How cold will it get in the basement?

my buddy's 500 gallon is heated on 2 250W stealths.... temp hold well

they are in the sump on a piece of plate glass.... pond is covered and so is the sump... insulated and hold heat very well...

If you're worried about a "normal" heater hurting the liner you can put them in some PVC. A powerhead blowing water through the PVC could help heat things more evenly.

The 300watt heater is doing pretty good. Ill shot some pics when i get the rays in there. Right now the tank is cycling with my gar in there and as soon as its done ill move them over. Now they will be able to stretch out. The floor plan is 84 by 38 by 24. I have a 1200 gallon per hour luguna pump and a 1000 gallon pond rated filter box working as a water fall back into the pond. Turned out really good.
