Heat packs

I don't know much about heating packs, but could you use the ones that you stick in your gloves when your hands are cold? I use heat packs that I get from sports chalet, when I go snowboarding. But you could also get similar ones from the camping sections of most Wal-Marts and Targets.

those dont last all that long though

when i moved my fish the guy at my LFS (who was more obsessed with fish than anyone ive ever met) told me that keeping them warm was not the problem. Its was more avoiding quick temp changes from cool to hot that would stress the fish (like if the tank was left in a car in the sun). He even recomended cooling the transportation tank with an ice pack warpped in newspaper on top of the tank with a blanket over top. my move was a 5 hour drive and was non stop and i have AC so I was fine without it, but it makes me think a heating pack may not be what you need.

Fish Eat Fish has the idea. You dont need to keep them at, say 75F. Even if they're at 62F for a while, it wont hurt much.
