So i have to condense tanks as i'm moving into an apartment. My cali king is going to end up on the bottom section of a wrought iron stand. I only have about 4 inches of clearance, just enough to fit the water dish and decor through...and the lid can slide on an off. I have always used basking bulbs and CHE's but that won't be possible in this situation.

Anyways, its a 75 gallon. And in my experience the "stick on" pads tend to wear out, so are there any better options? I have read about using human heat pads, but i'm not entirely sure. Thanks

i have always used t-rex's cobra UTH's. they're pretty good quality and last.

human heatpads are unreliable and really should not be used with herps.

heat pads or tape is the way to go with a thermostat to prevent any burning.

I agree Cobras are the best. When I lived in the north I threw away those horrible zoo meds pads and replaced them with cobra .
They heat but dont go to dangerous egg cooking temps and they dont shut off they just heat smooth and steady a good heat.

Never seen the Cobra's. I only have ZooMeds' UTH here. I will have to check them out.

Same, but it doesn't get terribly cold here. It gets mad cold where you are, doesn't it Ryan?

I had a zoomed cracked a 20 gallon tank bottom as it got so hot and had another which would work okay than shut off for hours than go back on.

I like their bulbs, light fixtures, etc but hate those UTH .
