1. what is the best temp to keep a bio filter at to start it out fast?

2. i heard of using a manure tea bag to help start it, is this a fact or is this a redneck idea?

by the way i am a redneck

2) ACK!!!! :nilly:

????? Rednecks wouldn't even do that! I know I are one:ROFL:.
(agricultural manure doesn't have the bacteria needed for the filter, but would be a great start if you actually want a severe algae bloom, and I don't even want to talk about the problems fresh (eeeuuuww!) manure would create).

Get some used filter material from a known healthy tank (lightly clean it in used tank water to remove detritus), lay it in your filter so water flows thru it and then thu your new filter and combine with a fishless cycle (see other thread).
