Plan on spending a whole lot of money to keep it warm!

Wanting to so the same up here and I am further north than you.

Finding information seems scarce.

An insulated building I think would need to be a must, and a large pond so that changes in temperature are not as drastic.

Solar water heating is a cheap solution, along with a wood boiler if you are located in a rural area.

I would insulate to a high degree due to your and my location, though fear of cooking the fish in a unlikely heat wave.

A couple days in 35C weather would not be good.

Wanting to do the same thing and I am more north than you.

I think to make it a reasonable cost, it would have to be in an insulated shed-building.

Could heat via wood boiler if your rural or solar panels - cheap.

Ideally it would be quite large to avoid fluctuations, and would want some way of chilling in thr case of a heat spell. Maybe mass water change or ground loop heat exchange.
