I recently purchased a 300 gallon tank with a 75 gallon sump and need some advice on how to heat it. Can anyone recommend me a reliable heater and how many I may need. Hoping to keep the tank around a constant 84-86 degrees.

Thanks!

Most aren’t really reliable. Usually replace yearly to avoid potential catastrophe. But I’d say get 2-3 titanium 500w for redundancy with temp controller.

I had a 300 galllon (tank with sump), and used 2 500watt titanium heaters with Ranco controller. My tank temp was around 78-79F. There are multiple variations to smaller wattage heaters, heaters with built in thermostat and controller for redundancy.

Fluval or the titanium heaters will work.
