yep,, time for a new one

Looks like it was left on during a wc.

...do you guys unplug heaters before doing water changes?

Heaters absolutely positively need to be unplugged during a water change...ESPECIALLY...if the water change will reduce the water level below the heater. Unplugging the heater 100% of the time during a water change (even if the water level is not being reduced very much during the change)...is just a good safety measure. Especially if a planned 10% water change turns into a 25% (or more) water change.

Thanks i have not done a water change yet as i just added this heater

My tank 2 days ago . But
I dont usually unplug the heater when doing water change . Good thing i saw this burned ip otherwise theres a chance of electrocution. Ill make sure to unplug from now on during wc
