:irked: I got this Heater in my 55 gallon breeder i just set up. Now i havent used this heater in atleast a year, so when i put it in the tank, it seemed to be "slow". But anyways the water is up to 80' F and is working good. THe only problem is that now like meshy pieces of plastic are peeling off a little bit and are floating around the tank, until i scoop them out.(thats what i get for a no name brand) So this is my question. what heater Will not break down like this? and What is Perfect for a 55G breeder?:grinno:

in my own experience, jager (eheim group) produces superb heaters with a lot of heating power per watt. atm im also using a sera one which is great too but less powerfull. it does come with a plastic cover to protect it from messy fish.
i usually buy a heater with twice the capacity if the one given on the box. so for your tank i'd go for a heater for a 110g tank.
