Heater for kritter keepers?

I would like to set up a betta tank for my bedroom and I'm wondering what you guys think of me using a 25 watt heater for a 2.5-3 gallon kritter keeper. Would the heater do any damage to the plastic?

Im no expert but my avatar ( you may see it) has a heater in it ( the tank is only a 1.5) for my daughters room.It hasnt melted the plastic at all. And the heater is a 2-15 gallon( the smallest the store had). Keeps it at a stable temp and I also have a thermometer in it.
