I recently picked up a stingray and now worried about the heater burning the ray. I was looking to purchase a heater guard but can only find ones for up to a 100 watts. Do they make 300watt heater guards, or is there a very easy do it yourself way that i am not thinking about?

I've reciently started converting ALL of my tanks (slowly..one at a time of course) over to in-line heaters rather than internal ones. Safer for the fish...better heating...looks better...less equipment inside the tank.

It would be easier and take up less room just to go inline like Wolf mentioned.

You can cut the 100 W guards up and combine 3 to make 1 guard for a longer heater. Worked for me.

Yeah worked like a charm did that monday lol. Went to my 2nd job(petland) on monday picked up 4 50 watt heater guards and used the great discount they give us. Pretty much can use the discount on anything except tanks grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

try the marineland stealth, i have them in the 150 and ive held them in my hand while on and it didnt burn me.
