i just got my 150 up but its been cold so I havent put many fish it in yet but i really want to so Im going to have to buy a heater for it, petsmart was all sold out so i turned to ebay, now my question is for a 150 what would you recommend for heaters, 2 200 watts, 2 250s, 1 300, 1 500 or 2 300's. The coldest it should get now would be 55 degrees, my tank is outside.

Also whats the best brand between odyssea, weipro, or jebo

I would go with 2 300 watt since it is outside. This will give a little bit more cushion and should not be that much more than a 250 watt.

I highly suggest you insulate the tank as well as possible to retain heat...

I use 2W per gallon for my indoor tanks...

I think you could spend abotu $10 on insulation and save yourself about $30 in heater costs... not to mention cutting the electrical usage in half...

How do you insulate a tank?

BTW only 2 months maximum in florida do you need to have a heater turned on but its been record lows lately and I cant get my fish to my 150 until i get heaters

i recently bought a titanium heater for the first time, and im extremely pleased with it. it gets much hotter, much faster, and keeps the warmth to it after the element turns off better than glass in my opinion. And its always good to have more than one heater. even if one alone can keep the water at a steady temp, turn the second one down 2-3* incase your main one breaks.

you may want to look into the titanium heaters as well, as they come in higher wattages than glass, and are unbreakable. im sorry i dident make the switch sooner

I hear alot of good things about them but i dont need a heater long so im went with the cheaper glass one, i bought two 300s
