Earth (temporarily)
ok, i have a problem. Something like 85% of my fishtanks at my store run off of a central filtration unit. Thats also where my heater(s) are located. Well, my main heater has been out for a while now, and I've been barely making it with a few 500 heaters. I need to know where I can get a huge heater, and I guess the main concern is that my water is constantly rushing through so the heaters are having a hard time heating the water up as it flows by (as opposed to sitting in a resevior or something). I'm freaking out cuz I'm burning up heaters left and right.:nilly:

This is probably the best place for something commercial.

Your store or you work there?

Are you heating a sump or do you want to do it differently tha the original design?

unfortunatly I just work there, if it was mine I would just do what we needed to do a long time ago and get a new filter system (the guys who built it, actually put it up on a ledge like 5 inches off the grond so most of my lower tanks dont move any water!) The original design would be great, but the company we bought it off of is out off business, so i'm kind of winging it.

just a suggestion... why don't you put your thermostat at 78F in your petshop/fish room? (if you have saltwater - i see the reason why). :)

The store is huge, and the thermostat isn't seperate, so its not that easy. Plus I wouldn't trust the possibility of fluxuation, not to mention the fact that I have tanks that are at different temperatures. Thanks though.

rushing water is good at distributing the heat..........

Can you shoot us some pix of the set-up, so we can understand the problem you face better. We need to see how the original heater is installed.

Is the owner not wanting to spend the bucks or just can't find a replacement?

Is he in for this repair?
