heater in a wet/dry filter ? good idea or not to mount a 1000 watt titanium heater in the refugium sectoin of the wet/dry. it is a 20 gallon w/d. would it get hot enough to damage the acrylic?

As long as there is sufficeint flow around the heater you should have no issues.

IF... the heater is in the sump and the thermostat is in the aquarium and the pump stops... this could cause problems...
But as long as the water is flowing at all times when the heater isi on you should be fine.
