just replaced my heater in my tank with a new one, after a while i noticed a knocking noise coming from the tank, and at first couldnt figure out what it was. after a while i decided to unplug the heater to see if it might have been that, and the noise stopped. is this normal for a new heater, as i dont remember this happening with any of my other heaters. the new heater is a fluval M300, thanks in advance for any help.

did you let the heater soak for a while in the tank before turning it on, you become the same temp as the tank
i bet thats what it is then mate. im new to this ive only been keeping fish for just over a year, but loving it, great hobby. thanks for replying mate,
did you notice the notice constant?? try checking to see if the knocking sound its in time with the light on your heater indicating its on or off

yes it knocks when the light comes on but not when its off. i just thought it strange as my old heater didnt do it.
did you drop the heater or bump it at all? it could be something that was knocked loose and is bumped around when turned on
