heater malfuntion!!!

well i got my first order from rapps three rio meta orinos 2severus and 2wild peruvion osacars put the severus in the 180 with the perruno thought the bass and oscar were to small put them in a growout tank changed out the heater for a new titanium tube that i got cheep boy did i learn a hard the hard way not to buy cheap stuff .Got up at 5 this morning to look at everybody.and buy the way had heater set at 80 F .IT WAS LIKE 180 DEGREES I BOILED MYFISH!!!! TOTALY BUMMED! My falt but geeeeeeeeeeeeeees!

Sorry for your loss. It never ceases to amaze me when people cheap out on equipment and lose more $$ in fish than what the equipment costs! 2 smaller wattage heaters are better than 1 wompin heater. That way if one gets stuck it won't/can't cook your fish.

ya you know it .My gut told me not to do it so you know by the way your first reply was OUCH!! but truth. By the way whats up with th jersy you need a min. nunber 4 would be better!

Sorry for your loss I know how it feels. I put in a heater that I was using on and off and I guess it finally broke down. I set up a new tank and placed 24 Serpae Tetras in there. I looked the next day and all but one was dead. When I placed my hand in the tank, the water was really warm. I placed a thermometer to see the temperature and it was at 98F. And the heater was still on and it was set to 82F.
