I know some of you will face palm when you read this but i was doing a water change and forgot to unplug my brand new aqueon 200 watt. I smelled burning an the suction cup attachment had melted, some unto the heater and some dripped into the tank. My question is is the heater useless now? Will the melted plastic effect my fish? Do i not turn it back on because of the melted goo on the heater?

It happens sometimes. No facepalm from me. Lol. Fill your sink up and put your heater in there, turn it on and scrape off the melted plastic. As long as the glass isn't cracked it should be okay.

Thanks yall. The goop easily fell off when the heater cooled. Last thing i need is a fish tank problem now with a pending hurricane.
