heater mistake

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
really that's usually where my tank @ 88-90 when my fish are sick LOL I haven't had any problems sorry for ur loss tho bro

I always give my self a 4 hour window when making heater adjustments, but I also have had my water close to 90 with little problems 86 - 88.

Tropicals can take the higher temps (esp. if you have enough gas exchange on surface), but a quick crank-er-up like that is gonna send them to the drink for sure. Fish chowda, anyone? Actually, so sorry . . .

sorry to hear that. To learn what handled it and what didn't, what type of fish made it and what type didn't?

Happened to me earlier this year as well. Turned my heater up too high, went to bed, and roasted my tank. 2 German Blue Rams and a Peacock eel didn't recover.

Thats why I like my heater. I've got a Theo Hydor, it's thermostatically controlled with ACCURATE temp. settings displayed right on the dial.
