heater or hood light??

got my granny to say yes to the heater for 5 hours a day but now which cost more my heater running or my light running ( fishtank light )

What is the temp of the water? I would assume the temp would drop significantly during the time its off and the fluctuation in temp will stress the fish.

well got GREAT NEWS:

i can run my heater but wont beable to use the light ( told her that i had a talk with you all and that the light takes up more elec then the heater does ) so she is letting me use the heater and only use the light when im doing tank maintance!

Seemed like you already had you mind made up... well glad your able to have your heater on so the temp will remain stable.

yupp and its all thanks to you guys! i consider this site my 2nd family! so now should i put my ballon molly back in the main tank and put the 4 lil frys in the 2.5 to grow out? the 2.5 doesnt have a heater or a filter but will get w/ced every day

hmm.. you might be better off getting a breeding enclosure, perhaps just use a large net and keeping them in that, inside the big tank so they wont get eaten but still have good heated filtered water. Glad it worked out for ya!

ya same here im glad it worked out to, just gunna suck sitting in a dark room at nite and searching on mfk with my tank light off lol but its worth it.
