I'm building a lid for my new aquarium.
Before I get too far into the project I have a question about heater placement.

I have an Aqua clear 110 on the back left hand side of the aquarium and an unknown tube heater of some sort hanging from the rear right hand corner.

The way I'm building this lid it's easier to leave a space to the right hand side of the AC 110s waterfall to hang the heater tube.

Theres advantages and disadvantages that I can see from this placement.

If its next to the AC 110 waterfall it may circulate heat better. Leaving the heater at the opposite corner of the tank where it is now creates a cooler/warmer temperature gradient from one side of the aquarium to the other.

I'm not sure which is the better location or if it really matters even.
I'm thinking of going with the 'closer to the filter' position just for convenience .
Any thoughts or suggestions about these two possible locations ??

This lid is only designed to last till winter when I plan to build a full size hood with lamp and so on.

Thank you !
