heater questions

i recently got a free 29g but the heater it came with is so small it cant heat the tank but i have a extra 300w laying around could i put that in my 55 and then put the 55g heater in the 29 or will it cook the fish

whats the size of the 55 gal heater? the 300 would work for a 55 as long as it has a good shut off on it and isn't cheap.Just watch the temp closely

IMO a 300w heater in a 29 is just asking for trouble..

Those heater will work but you have to watch the temp closely in case one sticks. I always use 2 heaters so if one sticks it won't heat the tank too quickly.
