Today i saw a 400w Hydor at Petsmart. Any body know anything about them?

The twin Theo heaters I placed into a 150 gallon tank refused to recognize the temperature settings and persisted in elevating the tank temperature several degress above what I had set. I would not even consider using them again.

My recommendations:

Up to 250 watts: Marineland Stealth
Up to 500 watts: Catalina Aquarium Titanium

My recommendations:

My favorite. It truly is stealth on a black-back tank. The only heater I buy (new).

Don't like the hydor heaters, wiped out my tank. The heater floats & the part of the heater that is not in the water starts sizzling and before you know it the fish are dead. Other heaters sink so are always in the water.

I just got the Eheim canister that has a thermometer built in. It works like a charm, plus it filters!

few weeks ago and so far love them , the old visi therms were useless trash they certainly did improve them

I only use Pro Heat Titanium Heaters. They have seperate above water controls and no chance of being broken.
