Well like the subject says I'm looking for heater(s) for my 110 gallon tank. I would prefer to get a submersible or hang on the back heater. I'm not sure what wattage I should be looking for I've been reading that others use 2 heaters that way it lowers the stress on the single heater and if one goes down you still have one that is working.

Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Always a good idea to have multiple under-powered heaters set up rather than relying on a single stronger unit. A single powerful unit stuck in the "on" position will cook your fish that much quicker, and if it stops working all together then you have to scramble to replace it...especially during the winter months. The optimal set up would be multiple heaters hooked up to heat controller(s).

For a 110, I would recommend two 150W. If ambient room temp is less than 60F, I would add an additional 150W. I use inexpensive Finnex controllers on all my set-ups just for extra peace of mind.

Thank you xraycer for the response. I'll have to look into the Finnex controllers. Is they're a heater you prefer? Thanks again

From member feedbacks, it seems to basically be a crab-shoot, no matter what brand you get these days. That is why I typically add controllers. That being said, the 2 brands that I still have that haven't failed on me are my Jagers and Aqeoun Pros.

Now I agree with the double heater and the wattage. But, you may also want to look at the ahem jager. They have been around for years, and they work great.
