my heater is set at 76 right now * was at 80 * but the temp is still climbing up to 82 should i be worried? it does get sunlight to.

the heater should have a thermostat on it. once it reaches the temp it is set to, it will turn off. Sometimes the actual temp and what the heater is set to can be different (I have one that I have to set to 75 in order for the water to be at 78, depends on the heater). Just adjust it a bit lower if its too high, check a few hours later and adjust it again if need be. Once you get it figured out it should be hands off operation.
